Sense and Sensibilities: Election Gun Ban and Cosplay

I'll make this absolutely easy to understand and straight to the point.

Guns and other objects similar to such will be frowned upon
if not get you in trouble with the law on Election season.

Please don't try to rationalize that they are toys, that they are
made of harmless plastic, styrofoam or wood.



If it looks like a gun, if its designed to look like a gun, if it suppose to function as a projectile-throwing weapon prop your character requires, then it will be mistaken for a gun.

Even if it looks like this:


Don't give our law enforcement a hard time by wasting their efforts checking you out suspiciously when they can be more vigilant checking other real threats to society. Who knows, maybe those who really aim to spread chaos and confusion during election might use that same reason, and pretend to be somebody carrying a toy gun or a cosplay prop.

The Philippine presidential election is scheduled to be held on
Monday, May 10, 2010.
